I grew up in Los Angeles, California and discovered film and photography at a young age.  I eventually graduated from the USC film school in 1993.  I gravitated toward documentary film while attending USC, and produced and co-directed a series of films about the urban history of the Venice community of Oakwood, California.  After graduating I worked in the Camera Department on various feature films and television shows.  All the while I continued to produce and direct independent documentaries.  In 2000 I took a six-month journey through Asia with my Leica camera documenting the people and places visited.  When I returned, the photographs were exhibited at the Buddha Garden in Los Angeles.

Throughout the last 20 years I have also volunteered and worked as a soccer coach.  Soccer has been a part of my life since childhood and working with youth players has provided me with an opportunity to pass on the valuable life lessons I've learned from the sport.  Between 2001 and 2010 I've been involved with directing the California Stars Soccer Club and overseeing team and player development.

In 2009 I visited South Africa for the first time.  During this visit I was introduced to the Fire Fighters F.C. and began supporting them and working with them to develop their program and capacity.  Upon returning I met various people interested in supporting the initiative to support local soccer clubs and community based leadership in South Africa.

Today I'm working with a group of people invested in making an impact in South Africa and beyond through the initiative to establish after school programs based on the Boys and Girls Clubs of America Model from the US.  I am currently working as an advisor to the Boys and Girls Clubs of South Africa.

Film and photography will always be a part of my life.  I continue to photograph and document my journey.  I am always writing and looking for opportunities to produce and direct films in the future...
